Hi there. So first of all, I think you’ve actually got a pretty good drawing here, you just need a little more structure. To avoid writing a novel, I’ll just say I think you should focus mostly on form and perspective. Those two are actually the same thing. If you’re drawing a 3D object (like your wizard here) you’re drawing in perspective, and form is how you express that perspective. Everything else flows from an understanding of perspective. Everything about this character can be drawn as a simple 3D shape. The way I like to approach a sketch like this is to first very lightly sketch in a rough outline of the drawing. Ignoring details and focusing on the biggest shapes first. Then I mannequinize the form, locking in the proportions and the bigger details. Lastly I decide on where I want the light to come from and start to add details. Focusing first on the larger shadows and forms and slowly adding smaller details at the very end. | Artwod Feedback
